Additive Manufacturing in Construction
AMC TRR 277

Function of the AMC: Staff (Postdoc and Doc. Researcher)

Dr.-Ing. Sebastian Esser

Dr.-Ing. Sebastian Esser is a postdoctoral researcher at the Chair of Computing in Civil and Building Engineering at the Technical University of Munich. His research centers on knowledge representations for the built environment, with a focus on predictive methods and real-time feedback systems for additively manufactured components. This includes improving data models, advancing the FIM system, and integrating digital twin approaches to capture as-built information during and after production.

M. Sc. Janika Fischer

M.Sc. Janika Fischer is a doctoral researcher at the Chair of Computing in Civil and Building Engineering at the Technical University of Munich. Her research focuses on cyber-physical systems for Additive Manufacturing in Construction (AMC), with an emphasis on sensor integration, real-time monitoring, and machine learning for adaptive process control. This includes developing approaches for real-time defect detection and enabling manufacturing systems to adapt dynamically to changing process conditions during printing.

Dr. Shanmugaraj Senthilnathan

Dr. Shanmugaraj Senthilnathan is a postdoctoral researcher at the Chair of Materials and Methods in Digital Construction (M²DC) at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). His research focuses on the digital characterisation of fresh concrete properties using computer vision and multimodal sensing techniques. Within the AMC project, he is responsible for developing automated quality monitoring and closed-loop feedback systems for shotcrete 3D printing to improve geometric fidelity and process reliability. He further contributes to data analysis, scientific publications, and the advancement of digital construction methodologies.

M. Sc. Jesus Daniel Meza Zeron

Daniel Meza is a doctoral researcher working at the Professorship of Structural Design at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). Daniel’s main research focuses on creating fabrication-aware form-finding methods for vaulted masonry structures.
