Hastia Asadi received Bachelor of architectural engineering (2007) and Master of civil engineering-structural engineering with honors form K.N. Toosi University of Technology, Tehran, Iran (2012). She was the first undergraduate student of architecture who was able to achieve an excellent ranking of 237 among about 30000 participants in the national graduate civil engineering entrance exam of the Iranian universities. In 2016 she held the post-graduate scholarship of University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany and received her doctorate (cum laude, 2021) from Institute for Metal and Lightweight Structures, University of Duisburg-Essen. During PhD she gained hands-on experience at Essen Laboratory for Lightweight Structures (supervised by Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Natalie Stranghöner) and polymer lab (supervised by Prof. Dr. Mathias Ulbricht).

Since 2008 she has gained teaching and professional experience in various educational institutions and engineering offices. She worked (between 2014 -2016) at Tazand Civil and Structural Consultant Engineers in Tehran where she was a Senior Fabric and Tensile Structures Engineer. From 2020 to 2021 she was a research associate at Institute for Metal and Lightweight Structures at University of Duisburg-Essen.

Since 2021, Hastia Asadi has been a postdoctoral researcher at the Chairs of Structural Design and Digital Fabrication at the Technical University of Munich. She has been appointed as co-coordinator of The Collaborative Research Center Transregio 277, Additive Manufacturing in Construction. Her research focus is the interface of structural engineering, architecture, and polymer science in order to adapt new technologies and materials in construction technology and design.

Hastia Asadi erwarb einen Bachelor in Architektur (2007) und einen Master in Bauingenieurwesen mit Auszeichnung an der K.N. Toosi University of Technology, Teheran, Iran (2012). Sie war die erste Architekturstudentin, die bei der nationalen Aufnahmeprüfung für Bauingenieure an iranischen Universitäten unter rund 30.000 Teilnehmern einen hervorragenden Rang von 237 erreichte. Im Jahr 2016 erhielt sie ein Postgraduiertenstipendium der Universität Duisburg-Essen, Deutschland, und promovierte (cum laude, 2021) am Institut für Metall- und Leichtbau der Universität Duisburg-Essen. Während ihrer Promotion sammelte sie praktische Erfahrungen im Essener Labor für Leichte Flächentragwerke (ELLF unter der Leitung von Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Natalie Stranghöner) und im Polymerlabor (Technische Chemie II unter der Leitung von Prof. Dr. Mathias Ulbricht).

Seit 2008 hat sie Lehr- und Berufserfahrung in verschiedenen Bildungseinrichtungen und Ingenieurbüros gesammelt. Sie arbeitete (2014 -2016) bei Tazand Civil and Structural Consultant Engineers in Teheran, wo sie als Senior Fabric and Tensile Structures Engineer tätig war. Von 2020 bis 2021 war sie wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Institut für Metall- und Leichtbau der Universität Duisburg-Essen.

Seit 2021 ist Hastia Asadi Postdoktorandin an den Lehrstühlen für Baukonstruktion und Digitale Fabrikation an der Technischen Universität München. Sie ist zur Co-Koordinatorin des Sonderforschungsbereichs Transregio 277, Additive Manufacturing in Construction, ernannt worden. Ihr Forschungsschwerpunkt liegt an der Schnittstelle von Bauingenieurwesen, Architektur und Polymerwissenschaften, um neue Technologien und Materialien in Bautechnik und Design zu adaptieren.
